A member asked:

I have a sinus infection and went to dentist and they gave me a numbing shot in my gum on my tooth and since my face feels black and blue what do j do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Feels or looks?: If your face actually appears bruised, it's quite possible a blood vessel was knicked during the injection. This is a fairly common risk of a local injection that heals fine leaving no long term complications. If it feels swollen it may just be the sensation of numbness. It may have nothing to do with the sinus infection.
