Depends where: Pancreatic cystic neoplasms are either located in the head or tail of the pancreas. This may require a whipple procedure or just a removal of the tail of the gland depending on location. Different cystic neoplasms may have different risks of cancer and recurrence, but because the harm of pancreatic cancer is so great, surgery may be worth it for you if you are a healthy individual!
