A long time!: The pain should not last more than 14 days. The area that the tooth was removed from will undergo changes for many months and even a year from now may not be completely healed. This is purely academic, however, you will not be able to tell the bone is still remodeling in the area once the gum tissues have healed in a few months. You are at the optimal age to have your wisdom teeth removed.

More than 6 days.: This varies based upon the extent of surgery required, the skill of the surgeon and your body's recuperative powers. Discomfort is usually about 1-2 weeks although closure of the wound around 2-4 weeks and basic bone remodeling takes 8 to 12 weeks generally.
