i grew up around second hand smoke my whole life now i can't stop coughing weeks after a cold. could i have lung cancer? i never smoked myself!

Exceedingly unlikely: What you considered a cold may have been a deeper infection (lower rather than upper respiratory virus) and in such cases recovery can take longer.If you haven't been in to see your doc in a while it might be easier to just go in and be evaluated than worry and wait to see if another week or so will fix it.
