How long would third hand smoke last in an apartment setting? when i first arrived for the first 3 weeks i was coughing because it was that heavily smoked in and smelt like an ashtray. now no noticeable smell. can this exposure cause lung cancer?

No cancer: Stink yes, cancer no. Smoke has infiltrated all materials in the apartment such as drapes, carpet, furniture. There are companies that specialize in cleaning this problem (restoration) and it may be necessary for you or the landlord to have this done to resolve your problem. Febreze is a product that blocks your smell by masking the odor but won’t clean it. Good luck

How much second hand smoke causes cancer? If continuous for 1 - 2 hours but it's breezy & 2 or 3 meters away but you can smell it and then two smokers i was face to face distance with for approx 5 mins. I have this exposure every couple months?
