No: Ability to procreate depends on production of functional sperm which can be checked for. Functional activity in inducing pregnancy extends into late 70's. History of prostate Ca in family is of little concern other than to periodically check prostate. Probable cause of this tumor is the MMTV virus which also causes breast Ca. Men whose wives have breast Ca have high rate of prostate Ca.

Good afternoon doctors. I asked the earlier PSA question. My PSA is 1.32. In mid 2020 it was 1.20. Urologist found a lump on my prostate during a digital examination. Since to me PSA seems within normal range, how likely is it I have prostate cancer?
Does finasteride (1mg daily) skew PSA results when testing for prostate cancer? Given family history of prostate cancer (Father had it), I want to be sure taking finasteride wont make it more difficult to test for and detect prostate cancer?
