You may need to: check for a vaginal infection. If there are no other symptoms, such as vaginal itching, discharge, odor, etc. then you may be starting irregular spotting/ periods with your hormone cycle approaching menopause. It could be very early on, or minor spotting may be a fluke. But monitor your symptoms and your irregularity well.p

Normal: You may have some ovulation related hormone changes causing spotting. If this does not improve over the next couple of cycle tho, have an exam. This might include an US or biopsy. You could be developing polyps, hyperplasia or a tumor(this is least likely). Most likely treated with progesterone withdrawal but rule out more serious causes first.
