Fatty liver...: In the presence of fatty liver, the serum ferritin level can be elevated. Your ferritin level is mildly elevated and the fatty liver is the likely etiology. Ferritin is an acute phase reactant and the fat tissue can cause inflammation. If you are overweight, weight loss is the best way to decrease your fatty liver. Avoid alcohol also. When the level is re-checked, hopefully it will be lower.
