Expressing emotion: People express emotions differently. Some are more demonstrative , while others tend to internalize it. It may be that your way of managing is to bottle them up until you can no longer contain them. It takes a lot of energy to hold in emotions, especially if they are intense.

Is it normal that my baby doesn't stop crying?

Yes: Unfortunately, up to 4 hours in a row is expected for a colicky baby. Colics are less common in breast fed babies (forgot to add that to the "advantages of breast feeding" answer!), and the only thing i found that works consistently is a car ride (with the baby, not away from her!).

When can I put my baby down without worrying about him crying?

When necessary: Babies are not spoiled by carrying them to soothe their frustrations, however if your attention is needed where or when it might not be safe for baby(eg, kitchen) then you can put him/her down in a safe place at anytime and any age and attend to these needs. As soon as you can, pick baby up and soothe their anxieties. They will ultimately learn to spend time alone, assured that you will return.

Why does my baby cry?

Something to say..: Babies cry to communicate. It may be a need - i'm hungry, cold, wet, gassy. Or it may be to get your attention, especially as they begin to realize there are people who love and hug them when they "communicate" with an attention getting cry. It's their way of sending you a signal, because they haven't mastered the phrase "change my diaper, it's full of poo" or "mommy i love you and i need a hug".

How do I manage a baby who is constantly crying?

Relax: How frustrating it is to have a crying baby! if you've checked with your doctor and there is nothing wrong, try to relax. It is normal for babies to cry up to 3 hours a day. If you feel yourself feeling frustrated see if someone else can watch them for a while or just put them in their crib and take a bath (where you can't hear them). Taking some time for yourself will make it easier.

Tai chi, Yoga: Both can go a long way in relieving stress and bringing on a sense of wellbeing.
