Common: That's common with chronic urticaria, prednisone was to control a flare up, and not to eradicate it altogether, you still have to be on daily antihistamines to control the chronic condition, better see an allergist / dermatologist if you haven't done so already, check aaaai.org or acaai.org for an allergist in your area, good luck

My friend says that since she knows someone who has the same condition as I and functions well day to day, I should stop acting disabled and get on with my life. What if she's right?

Rarely true: When a patient (or friend) states to "know someone with the exact same symptoms" as themselves, rarely is it true as everyone's individual situation is different. Best to consult with your doctor and not your friends.

No.: There are many, many different parasitic infections. I know of no daily vitamin that helps prevent any of them.

Depends on calories: Breastfeeding is a great way to lose weight after delivery. It increases your metabolism and helps you burn more calories. Increase your exercise each day to burn calories as well. Eating well balanced meals is the most healthy diet and i highly recommend keeping a food diary to know how many calories you are taking in. www.tweetwhatyoueat.com is a great easy to use food diary.

Do you think I should get closed manipulation, physical therapy every day, or a brace to bend my knee?

It depends: I would see your physician regarding this one. It depends on why you cannot bend your knee. There are many potential causes such as osteoarthritis and post-surgical arthrofibrosis to name a few. The cause would help direct the appropriate treatment.
