The skin of the shin: is very thin. (Say that fast three times!) Your veins will be more visible because of the thin skin. In the absence of pain, swelling or warmth in the area it is nothing to worry about.

Shin Veins.: Shin veins are very common and have nothing to do with DVT. Shin veins can either be blue(reticular) veins or varicose veins. Each are treated differently. See a vein specialist for a full venous evaluation including a venous ultrasound.
