A member asked:

I went to the doc for potential dvt said my leg looked fine but he ordered a ct of my leg.. just incase. will that detect dvt?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not usually: The usual test to detect DVT is an ultrasound of the leg that looks at the veins in your legs. Cts can be used, but that is not the usual test when looking for dvts.
