What to do if i have strep b, where did i get it and can i get rid of it if i am a carrier?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Poop germ: Group b strep is a hitchhiker germ in the intestines. It gets there through ingestion from contamination in the environment. The close proximity of the anus to the female genitals makes carriage there common. As many as 1/3 women carry at any point. You can eliminate it temporarily with IV antibiotics to allow a baby to be born without infection, but return is likely soon.Oral abx don't seem to matter.
