I'm on hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg for bp issues after pregnancy for past 3 days. how long does it take to start working?

Most of the time it: will take a few days to "get into your system" but it should start working then. You should see a diuretic effect (going to the bathroom #1 more often than before) and your blood pressure going down. It is good to check your blood pressure several times throughout the day to measure how much better it is on HCTZ (hydrochlorothiazide) than not. Thanks for trusting in HealthTap.
