Yes, but...: Complex carbs are harder for your body to absorb which means that you don't get calories as fast and therefore don't spike your Insulin and then "crash" right after when all the simple carbs get put away. Carb Quandry : Some "complex" carbs(brown rice, whole wheat) are metabolized slowly and are better for weight management but ultimately if you consume more calories than you need you will gain weight. Reduce all carbs, especially simple carbs(white bread, rice or pasta). Eat frequent(6) small meals a day. Exercise vigorously for about 150 min a week, drink plenty (60 oz) of water and get 8 hours of good sleep.
