Needs stability.: Your ankle is a bit unstable and further "giving way", of any type can only increase the instability. Your best bet is to stop all lower extremity work and stick to upper body or bicycle until your ankle is evaluated. A competent ankle specialist will probably offer recommendations on the various ways of both strengthening and protecting your ankle.
