Thanatophobia is one: of a long list of phobia's, which in general, are anxiety-based experiences anticipating loss of control, power and the ability to manage something. That something could be internal (the rise into awareness of feelings, memories) or external (IRS audit, being stranded on an island). Educate yourself. Fears are OK.: It's OK to have fears. We all fear one thing or another. But it's not OK when the fears and anxieties become so consuming and disruptive that they impair your ability to function. The key is not to target the fears, but the thoughts. Put the thoughts into their appropriate context, identify their source and work to eradicate them. Seek counseling.
