Buspar (buspirone): Buspar (buspirone) can help with generalized anxiety and worrying. It will need at least 7-10 days' dosing for effect. Also, psychotherapy can help as well -- usually in combination with each other. It's best to work with a psychiatrist for a comprehensive assessment and any medications that may be needed; psychologists are very skilled in specific psychotherapies that help anxiety.

Don't think so: Buspar (buspirone) can be good for generalized anxiety but in general it is not the best treatment for such severe , acute anxiety, with panic attacks and what sounds like obsessional worries. Buspar (buspirone) can be used to augment the action of an ssri to treat such severe anxiety, panic attacks, depression, and ocd, and used that way, can be very helpful.
