Is it possible to sustain a gunshot to the head and not notice it?

Yes : If one was shot multiple times or other serious trauma occurred a GSW to head might be missed. ( due to other distracting injuries/pain). But clearly this would be a rare exception. More philosophically, if one is shot in the head and dies did he or she "notice it" ?
