See your dentist: If your gums are so sore that you have trouble eating and you aren't experiencing fever, rash or malaise , you most likely have advanced periodontal disease. You must see your dentist and possibly a periodontist . This condition can become serious so don't put it off.

Gingivitis, See DDS: If you have painful gums or a blood in your mouth, it may be a sign that you are at risk for or already have gum infection. Gingivitis is a serious problem, which should be checked by a dentist.
