Probably: Not clear what you mean by gaping, but this area generally heals VERY well if not infected. And it is usually not possible to stitch again. If you are having significant drainage, pain, or fever, you should be seen. Otherwise, apply a warm compress for at least 10 minutes about 6 times a day to give it the best chance of healing. If you can, dry yourself off with a hairdryer on warm setting.
