I took 3 day cource of azithromycin-500 but i still think all strep bacteria in my throat is not killed. can i take it for two more days?

What makes you: Think that the strep is still hanging about? Pain or swelling? Difficulty swallowing? Fever or sweats? Thick white discharge or exudate on your tonsils? Some of these symptoms can also come from oral thrush or residual symptoms from severe infection. Most strep infections will leave behind inflammation for a week after. Usually a 5 day course of Azithromycin or 10 day course of Amoxil (amoxicillin) is enough.
