Reassessment Needed: While Azithromycin is effective against some forms of strep throat, it does not work for all forms of strep throat. There are also multiple other causes for tonsillitis. Usually if your medication is effective, you begin to feel much better within 2 to 3 days of starting the medication. I recommend you have your throat reevaluated to assess appropriate changes in your treatment or medication.
