Tube time ?: The old mantra was 5 in a yr or one that won't clear = tubes. When a kid has this many in a short time the middle ear mucous can turn to the consistency of axle grease & would never clear unless removed in surgery, Tubes are usually put in after the debris is removed to allow the middle ear to heal.Time to see an ENT for consult.
