A member asked:

Can intestinal blockage cause you to not be able to pee?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: With intestinal blockage the abdomen can become markedly distended. This can produce pressure on a distended urinary bladder possibly forcing frequent and small amts of urine. Distended bowel can fill with body fluid and minimize amount of urine being filtered by the kidney. Failure to easily "pee" is due to obstruction of the urinary output from bladder at the site of an enlarged prostate.
