Reversible : Yes, Its reversible but its a slow process once you remove the factors that causing it. Uncontrolled diabetes is one example. Keeping tight control can reverse it in long run.

Consult doctor: who did the test. You need to understand what the results of these tests mean. If the doctor who did the test(s) did not discuss the results with you, then you should definitely ask for an explanation of what the results mean, and ask all the questions you have until you have a good understanding.
