Observe: After knee replacement or other major surgery there can be either numbness or hypersensitivity of local nerves. When you put "heat" creme on hypersensitive nerves, it can cause a burning sensation. It's probably not dangerous. Worth watching if the sensation gets better when you withhold the creme. The main thing to do is make sure you get your range of motion back and strengthen you knee.
