Yes it can happen: Make sure your legs around your ankles are not swelling. This could lead to cramps. Support hose help. Also i recommend calmag to help with the cramps.

Yes: After knee surgery, the knee will ache at night and make sleeping difficult. It may get "restless" and cause muscle spasms in the 1st 2 months after knee replacement. This should gradually resolve.
