This happens: once the area is inflammed form anything, it becomes bothered by Everything. Monteleukast interrupts this process.

Smoker?: If you smoke then the answer is smoking. Smoking causes dysfunction of the lining of the respiratory tract from the nose to the lungs causing it to be more sluggish, more mucousy and less resistant to germs. If you are not a smoker then it could be allergies making your respiratory tract more sensitive to irritants.
