Mgt: It may be the flu caused by influenza virus, or another respiratory viral illness. It is important to rest, stay well hydrated and to monitor your temperature. Tamiflu (oseltamivir) is available to treat influenza.
It is not uncommon to have muscular chest pain with coughing, but if you have any respiratory distress, please go to the ED.
Most viral illnesses improve in a few days.
