Red nose: Greetings. I would recommend seeing your ENT doctor, family doctor or even the Emergency Room for evaluation. A staph infection may be present causing the pain and redness. An antibiotic may be needed. Infection in this area is important to treat quickly. Good luck.

Get checked.: A painful rash is not normal. Stop putting anything on it for now as what you are using may make it worse. Only clean with mild very dilute unscented soap. Get seen soon. An infection in that area needs to be treated promptly. If you have fever, rapidly increasing redness, or rapidly increasing pain, etc., go to an ER.
