Variations: Some can recognize a degree of paranoia, some don't. Other symptoms like hallucinations are separate and may or may not be involved. This requires a real professional eval. Don't do-it-yourself! The age of 20 may mean a serious illness is possible. Seek good help ASAP. Best!

Yes and no: It's a good thing if a person can admit he is having paranoid thoughts. That's a step towards understanding yourself, feeling more in control. Paranoia can range from fleeting thoughts as in anxiety to delusional thinking which is out of touch with reality.
