If you get help: For schizophrenia, & as tough as it is, stay with treatment (and avoid going off treatment) you will feel much much better. Talk to your psychiatrist about your symptoms, why you stopped past meds, and find a way to get started. Good luck!!

Schizophrenia: is a collection of many diseases. Most can be treated well with medication and other measures. Hallucinations and confusion can be caused by other conditions. (Epilepsy, encephalitis, tumors, etc) Proper treatment depends on an accurate diagnosis. With some types of Schizophrenia there can be progressive loss of brain function despite excellent treatment. Talk to your doctor about treatment.

Consistency: Yes, you can make good progress. Stay on the med regimen that has worked best for you even if you have been well, do not stop taking it. It's the constancy that will stave off relapses. If too inconvenient there are long term injectables once/month of more modern meds that can make it easy to stay consistent. Also the meds won't work as well if not maintaining self off street drugs or tobacco.
