Tough Break.: Well if you don't want to have an x-ray, the seriousness of the apparent fracture can only be guessed. You certainly can reduce the fracture deformity yourself by first pulling outward and then aligning it straight. If the toe remains relatively straight, then begin the taping procedure. If you are a little weak kneeded about it, then it would be best to see a specialist. Apply ice for swelling.
