Meds: yes you can take Tylenol (acetaminophen) along with a anti-inflammatory such as diclofenac or Aleve. Just know that the Aleve or diclofenac can cause gastrointestinal upset.

Yes: you can take Alleve (a "NSAID") with TYLENOL (acetaminophen) since the two are unrelated. There is no advantage to diclophenac over Alleve and its a lot more expensive. BTW DO NOT "mix" diclophenac and Alleve!!!! Hope this helps!\ Dr Z

Yes you can: take tylenol (acetaminophen) with an NSAID. I would not take the allege together with the diclofenac thug, take one or the other.

Not always good...: The real goal is to allow the strained ligament to heal. Because of the nature of ligaments, it can take a while. By taking pain relievers and anti inflammatory medication, you are effectively removing the bodies natural defense mechanism. Your continued, pain free abuse of the injured ligament just prolongs the time for healing. The pain can be a indication of the degree of healing.
