Check with doctor: Canesten is clotrimazole, usually very effective. How long has it been since you were treated? It can take a week to clear up, and itching can be worse for a day or two. However, some yeast strains are resistant to Canesten and other "azole" drugs. If treated a week without benefit, maybe diagnosis is wrong or resistant strain. Check back with your doctor about next steps.
