Azole resistance?: A small percentage of vaginal yeast infections are caused by Candida types resistant to the most commonly used yeast treatments (the "azole" drugs -- miconazole, clotrimazole, fluconazole, etc). Return to your doctor to confirm the diagnosis; if yeast is reconfirmed, ask about alternate treatments, such as nystatin, caspofungin, or flucytosine.
