Scotoma ..: 24 y/o Female woke up to fix something to eat, looked near wall, saw a small black dot which then went away; asks if to tell eye doctor. Not unusual for eyes to be out of focus on waking up. Scotoma, defined as an island of visual filed loss/ blindness can be transient or permanent. Once is probably not significant but if it recurs often it will be indication to Chat with the Eye Doctor.
