Tough breaks.: Ice it immediately. Elevate it as high as possible. You will need to consider having the foot evaluated by a foot specialist. The pain will reduce with the elevation, but stronger pain relief may be necessary. If fractured, a cast boot will help stabilize the damage, but count on this to a nagging injury for some time.
