Flushing: Skin can feel hot from flushing but you may have a normal temperature. Stop caffeine, alcohol, nicotine and any over the counter medicines, inc. supplements you may be taking. If it continues get checked again. Thyroid problems or other hormone problems can do this, too.

It sounds like: you don't have a fever (Did you go to the ER for fever evaluation or something else?) The head can often feel hotter than other parts of the body because of its rich supply of blood vessels. Your scalp can also feel hot if there is any local infection such as scalp/seborrheic dermatitis, or even infection in your upper head/sinuses. Watch for other signs of illness ... Stay well!
