Depends.: Depends on how you are faring. Sounds like it's being managed properly. If you're symptoms improving, no problem. If not, return to surgeon. Hopefully, you are being managed by an oral surgeon.

Be observant: Sounds like you are being well cared for, and have been given appropriate post-surgical instructions. Follow them to the letter (for example, don't quit taking antibiotics too soon). If you notice anything out of the ordinary, don't hesitate to call your Oral Surgeon's office. Your question may seem unique to you, but is routine for them. Happy healing.
