Multivitamins: are like an insurance policy for when we don't eat right, don't sleep well, or are especially stressed. Go to a good store or get some guidance because the popular brands are typically very week and not helpful. The dose (read label and check that half or more of the ingredients are several 100 per cent above RDA. Dose more important than a long list. Can help skin but see dermatologist.

In many cases yes: Many vitamins and minerals are needed for healthy skin. While it's optimal to get nutrients from our diet, over 90% of people are deficient in one or more vitamins so I advise a good multivitamin for everyone. As Dr. Self mentions, many popular brands aren't that good so get a quality brand at health food store. Just as important for skin are essential fatty acids (fish oil, GLA) & a healthy diet.

Well....: If you listen to most Doctors and sellers of vitamins, your skin can glow if you take multivitamins, and then add nutritional supplements, and then add minerals, and then eat well. Of course, you get the same benefits by eating well. If you really want your skin to glow (and are not interested in pregnancy), save your money for a gym membership. Only exercise has proven health benefits for you.
