Epidural steroid inj: These injections are typically for pinched nerve pain ( leg/arm numb/weak/pain). This may result from ddd, spinal stenosis or herniated disc. Use for axial pain (neck/back only) is not likely to help any more than steroid tabs or a shot in the butt. Not unusual to aggravate back symptoms with limping after extremity surgery.

Epidural ok: If there is a nerve being irritated in the back an epidural can often calm that nerve irritation down. Epidurals are generally ok unless you get more than 3-4 in a year.
