I had non pylori gastritis four years ago. my last scope showed mild chronic inactive gastritis. does this increase cancer risk. do i still have gastritis?

Define gastritis: Gastritis is an inflammation of the mucosa of the stomach, of which there are MANY causes (please refer to prior HealthTap answers on the subject). The timing & duration of the condition may differentiate between acute gastritis & chronic gastritis. What you are describing is a histologic term based on the microscopic appearance of your biopsy taken from the stomach lining. No dysplasia seen?

Probably not: It appears that your gastritis has subsided but the term " mild chronic inactive gastritis" is confusing. Either there is gastritis which is mild and active or there is inactive gastritis. Call your doctor to get this point clarified. . Do you have any symptoms?
