A member asked:

I'm going to the doctor for my tail bone on tuesday. but i recently noticed that there is a flap of skin where i think i have a pilonidal cyst.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Bump near tail bone: A pilonidal cyst is a lump under the skin at the bottom of the back, where the two sides of the buttocks meet. It is caused by something that happens to some people when they are embryos. It can be a small or large bump, or a big swollen abcess. Only a surgeon can remove it so it never comes back.
