Be part of decision: You should always be part of the decision. This means that you need to understand why a particular medication is being chosen and what are the possible side effects. You should know that while Paxil (paroxetine) is primarily an antidepressant, it also can be effective for anxiety conditions. You need to discuss your concerns with your doctor.

Discuss with your: doctor as they know all your history and why they put you on it. You can ask them if there are any other medications that will work.
