Carefully: avoid abrupt loading of the toes/ forefoot as well as putting weight on the outside of your injured foot - 5 weeks is a shorter duration than many averages, and i recommend up to 8 weeks of "duck-walking" on the injured foot.

Very easy does it.: This type of fracture usually takes more time to heal than other fractures. The period just after cast removal is when you must be careful. Any slightly exaggerated stress can easily re-fracture the bone. This is not the time to "test" the quality of the heal. Stair climbing, can be done, but only with great care. Sometimes a low cast boot can be used to help transition from cast to shoe.
