A member asked:

Terrible teeth and jaw pain after using 10 mg ambien (zolpidem) for 3 days plus really dry mouth?

See dentist: right away for jaw pain, dry mouth and "terrible teeth." Stop the Ambien (zolpidem) as jaw pain and dry mouth can be side effects although rare. Stay with dental appointments, take care of your teeth and maybe you'll sleep better too. Drink water for dry mouth, avoid sugary drinks and tobacco. All the best.

Not for pain...: Ambien (zolpidem) is not a pain medication, but a sleep aid. Your dry mouth is a side effect of the ambien (zolpidem). Your "do it yourself " attempts to alleviate your dental distress will not work! You need to see a dentist! There is no need to worry, just like medical science, dentistry has kept pace and the care is amazing and painless. Good luck!

See. Your Dentist: It sounds like you might need a TMJ exam. Stress is a factor in TMJ and your need for Ambien (zolpidem) - the underlying cause - may be connected. See a dentist whip includes TMJ in his practice. Good luck.

See dentist: tooth and jaw pain should not be caused by Ambien (zolpidem).

TMJ dysfunction : When your jaw joints are misaligned or not working properly, the resulting pain and discomfort can extend far past your jaw pain. See a dentist or TMJ specialist for examination, diagnosis and treatment.
