Depression : Can occur with no precipitating factors or due to stressors such as grief or other negative factors. Lifestyle changes may include decreased interest in social interaction, hobbies, etc, lack of energy and motivation, changes in sleep and appetite. Treatment may include therapy, medication or both, but I would definitely recommend talking to your doctor or a mental health provider/counselor

Complicated: Depression is more than the blues or a bad day. It is a complex array of mental and physical symptoms that interfere with a person's functioning. If untreated, depression can worsen to the point of hopelessness and self-harm. Depression is treatable. See: http://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/publications/depression/index.shtml#pub4 I hope this helps.
