A member asked:

I'm having a constant pain on my left side, wondering is it possible to have gallstones in my pancreas if i had my gallbladder removed last year?

Retained gallstones: Although it's always possible to have retained gallstones after gallbladder removal, it is unlikely that they would be in the pancreas. It is possible for them to be in the bile duct and for them to cause pancreatitis, although the pain is usually either in the midline or in the right upper quadrant if that occurs. Your pain now is probably not due to your gallbladder. See your doctor. Good luck.
